FLINT, MI – Team IST is pleased to announce that Jerry Deveney has been named Director of Business Development for the tanning industry’s largest and most widely read trade publication.
In addition to working with the editorial team, writing monthly columns, and researching and reporting on new products and services, Jerry will also handle all advertising sales for the magazine.
Jerry brings more than 30 years of hands-on tanning business experience, having worked in almost every sector of the industry including salon management, equipment manufacturing and distribution, new product development, regulatory affairs, and sales and marketing.
“I’ve done everything from cleaning tanning beds in a packed salon to physically delivering and setting-up equipment in a second floor location in the middle of a blizzard,” states Deveney. “Then, the next week, I’d get on a plane to Washington D.C. to meet with Federal Regulators. It’s truly been an exciting, wild experience since 1984.”
A noted speaker and master of ceremonies for countless industry events, Jerry is also the author of Sun Business – The Complete Guide to the Business of Indoor Tanning. With more than 50,000 copies distributed world-wide, this insightful publication, first printed in 1995, provides solid “how-to” information and proven marketing strategies that have withstood the test of time.
Jerry has helped thousands of people to own and operate successful tanning salons, beauty salons, day spas, wellness centers and health clubs. He has also worked with hundreds of companies to develop and introduce new products and services to the industry.
