The board-certified dermatologist poses that, inexplicably, with all the great advances in research and treatment, skin cancer rates for basal and squamous cell carcinoma, as well as melanoma, continue to rise. More people are being diagnosed with skin cancer each year than the sum of all other types of cancer. Predictions estimate that 1 in 5 Americans will be diagnosed with a skin cancer by age 70.
