SEATTLE, WA – Seattle Sun Tan, Seattle’s premier tanning destination, has announced the acquisition of the Desert Sun Tanning Salons franchise system. With 34 locations throughout the Puget Sound and 60 Desert Sun salons in Washington State, Seattle Sun Tan will become the fourth largest salon operator in the U.S. with just under 100 stores.
“When we opened the first Seattle Sun Tan in 2004, we had an outstanding response from our customers and set a goal of expanding to 12 locations by 2012. We have surpassed that number by nearly eightfold with the Desert Sun acquisition,” explained Seattle Sun Tan Founder, Scott Swerland. “Our mantra of providing state-of-the-art equipment and excellent customer service has allowed for this success, and we’re thrilled to bring Desert Sun under our umbrella.”
Prior to its acquisition by Seattle Sun Tan, Desert Sun was owned and operated by Palm Beach Tan, Inc., based in Dallas, TX. Swerland will continue to run all franchised Desert Sun salons under the Desert Sun brand with the eventual goal of continuing to expand both Desert Sun and Seattle Sun Tan in Washington State and beyond.
The Seattle Sun Tan brand was created with the goal of offering an unparalleled tanning experience by providing first-class facilities with cutting-edge design, sincere customer service, premium skin care choices and customer education on the benefits of responsible tanning. The brand concept has received rave reviews for its hospital cleanliness, certified staff, five levels of tanning and a wide array of premium skin care choices, many of which will eventually be offered at Desert Sun locations.
Seattle Sun Tan salons are equipped with top-of-the-line UV systems, premier sunless options including VersaSpa and SunFX technician-applied airbrush tans, and alternative skin and body care methods including red-light treatments, Hydration Station and infrared body wraps. Visit seattlesuntan.com.
Founded in 2001, Desert Sun operates 55 franchise locations and five corporate stores throughout Washington State, offering a full selection of premier tanning options, including high-quality sunbeds, Mystic Tan and/or VersaSpa sunless, red-light and body wrap treatments and a vast array of tanning and skin care products.
