It feels like I grew up in the tanning industry. When I was young, my mom – Randy Tipton – would represent Universal Insurance at the trade shows and take me with her. Those were the days when the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders would be there, ice sculptures, wild parties (that I was way too young to partake in), lots of free samples, boat cruises, it was a riot. It is such a glamour industry – I was hooked at the age of 11! When people ask if insurance is boring, I respond, “How could it be when you are working with such a fun industry?”
Insurance is in my blood and honestly, I love helping people protect their businesses. Bill Kron still raves about how the first year he insured his salon with us, he had a fire and now, 20 years later, he is still our loyal client. Claims happen, so it feels good when we can help transfer some of the risk so the salon doesn’t have to pay for it all out of pocket.
With a full-time job and two little kids, spare time is limited. I love to eat out and then workout. Almost every Thursday, my husband and I play tennis. It is rare that we have a moment to just relax and watch TV.
Laziness. I am inspired by motivation!
Now that I’m a mom, I call myself the garbage disposal because I tend to eat everything the kids leave on their plates. It is a bad habit that has become a New Year’s resolution. That being said, my all-time favorite would be a beautiful steak and a spectacular glass of wine (or two).
I recently got into House of Cards – must admit I did some binge watching!
I try not to wait to do anything – if it’s on the list, a date gets put beside it. Impulsively, I would say visiting Israel.
