1. How/when did you get into the tanning industry?
I’ve been tanning since I was around 15 years old, when my mom signed my first salon waiver. I’ve followed the industry for years and wanted to work for New Sunshine for a long time; I’m very fortunate and grateful that I was given the opportunity in June 2019.
2. What was your first job?
My first job at 15 was at a store in the mall that sold fashion bedroom décor for teenage girls. Let’s just say I had a lot of blow-up chairs, beaded lamps and fuzzy rugs! My first job out of college was for Adidas, in their production art department.
3. What makes you laugh the most?
Typically, I laugh at myself! I’m the person who not only laughs at her own jokes (someone has to), but I can also be pretty clumsy, so I just have to shake my head and laugh sometimes. Laughter is one of my favorite things – I think everyone needs a really good belly laugh from time to time.
4. What was your favorite subject in school?
I was always good at math and science (even if I didn’t always enjoy them), but my favorite thing in school was always art class. I love to be creative when I can and even took multiple elective art classes in college.
5. Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why?
I’ve never really been to either (other than a rainy, 30-minute layover in Hawaii), but both sound fantastic. I would lean toward Hawaii, because I love being outside in the sunny weather and nature. Hopefully, I will get to visit both one day!
6. What would you do if you won the lottery?
I would probably pay off my debts and my family’s, take a nice vacation (why not Alaska & Hawaii?), donate to my favorite charities, then open a café. I’ve always wanted to own a café where I get to know all my customers and their families as they keep coming in and enjoying the food!
7. Necessities aside, what one thing could you not go a day without?
That would be any one of the many New Sunshine tan extenders I have on my shelf! I just choose whichever one I am feeling that day, and it just puts me in a great mood and my skin feels amazing!
