As a 15-year-old high school sophomore, I wanted a job REALLY bad and my mother begged me not to get one so that I could focus on school. I decided to apply at our local (Alabama) tanning salon and I got the job. My mother and grandmother would drive me to work after school until I was old enough to drive, and I absolutely fell in love with the world of tanning. I knew I wanted it to be a lifelong career when I would see sales trainers featured in the tanning magazines. I used to tell myself that would be me one day, and here I am! I feel so blessed.
Not only have I enjoyed traveling, but I have also met so many people who will now be lifelong friends. I have an amazing work family and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! The fact that I get to educate people and have fun doing it is the best feeling – they say to do what you love and I am absolutely in LOVE with my job! I am also very thankful for my mentor at Devoted Creations, Lisa (Parsons) Saavedra.
Christmas … DUH! Every year, we put up our family Christmas tree on my mother’s birthday (November 8). I am actually going to make this a tradition when I have my own family. Yes, it’s very early – but, Christmas trees, gifts and lights make me very happy during the holiday. Also, who doesn’t like clearance sales on December 26?
“Warning: Do not leave unattended at Hobby Lobby!” If you do not know what Hobby Lobby is, Google it. It’s every southern girl’s go-to store for home décor, crafts and things they just really don’t need (haha). You should see my living room…
It is most definitely (Devoted Creations office pup) Ashley Bronzer. If you do not know her, just type her hashtag #AshleyBronzer on either Facebook or Instagram. You will totally agree with me on this one! She is adorable, spoiled (by everyone), naps everywhere and anywhere and has more clothes and jewelry (her collars) than I have! She also loves food and belly scratches.
There is absolutely no way I could go without my phone. If I am not on Facetime, Instagram, Facebook or taking selfies, you can catch me on TikTok for hours at a time. TikTok is addicting! If you don’t have one, download it! I warned you, though.
I have so many! Loud chewers, people who walk slowly or stop suddenly in the middle of the grocery store aisle; the people who do not silence their phones when they are playing a game in public … they are the worst. Seriously, no one wants to hear you play Candy Crush!
