Breeds/species: Cats
The story: I’ve had Ronnie for seven years, Jet for a year and Nova for three months. I volunteer at my local animal shelter and these cats were impossible for me not to take home. Ronnie was one of a litter that was discovered tossed in a trash bin, and Jet had been at the shelter for over a year in recovery after being hit by a car. Nova was surrendered by her owner and would have been euthanized if no one fostered her.
My favorite thing about my pets: The 6am “wake-up call” I get when they want their breakfast. Ronnie lies on top of my head and purrs while Jet and Nova sit next to each other at the side of the bed and stare up at me until I open my eyes. The routine never varies, and it’s a very effective alarm clock.
Tricks/talent: Sleeping, eating, purring, playing, snuggling & more sleeping
Comments: You may not be a “cat person,” but if you’re interested in a new pet, please consider adoption/rescue before buying from a store or breeder. Your local shelters are full of cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, turtles and many more, all looking for a forever home. If a certain breed is important to you, I guarantee there is a rescue out there that specializes in that breed.
To sum up my pets in one word: Love!
