New Sunshine, LLC prides itself not only on having a healthy, low-stress work environment, but also on partaking in wellness programs to get staff involved and moving. In years past, New Sunshine has conducted wellness programs focused on the physical, nutritional and financial aspects of life. It is an ongoing effort that top management views as very important to the overall success of the company.
In fact, this June New Sunshine hosted a “Walk to Win” wellness program centered around staff getting outside and exercising after a long winter. As if walking for your physical health wasn’t reason enough, weekly prizes were given out to employees who participated as an added incentive. Once the contest was complete, two overall Grand Prize winners were announced and awarded American Express gift cards.
“I simply appreciate the idea of a company rewarding individuals who make an effort to better themselves physically,” commented New Sunshine team member, Ken Miller.
This goes to show that you don’t have to break the bank to have a health and wellness program at work. The staff gets excited and motivated when you involve them in company programs – especially if those programs give away prizes! It is a great way to get everyone in a friendly competitive spirit and aid in team-building. Dawn Hagen, Senior Human Resources Representative, believes taking time out of the day to walk during work-hours helps staff unwind, allowing them to improve their focus once they return to their desk.
