Looking for the indoor tanning event of the year? Then look no further than the 2013 West Coast Tanning Expo!
JK-North America’s 2013 West Coast Tanning Expo will take place June 10-11 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The event is co-hosted by industry leaders Australian Gold, Devoted Creations, Ergoline and Supre Tan, and the show will be the tanning event of the year. As to be expected, the agenda will include everything salon owners need to operate a successful business, including top-notch education and some exciting new products. Hosting what is tanning’s “big show” during the summer in Las Vegas is a tradition and this will be the sixth consecutive year for JK-North America.
JK-North America has made sure the Expo’s presentations will offer everything a salon pro needs to succeed: staff motivation, customer service and the most effective sales and marketing techniques. The keynote speaker is author and consultant, Lourdes “Luly B.” Balepogi. “At previous expos, Luly has helped salon owners utilize marketing and sales ideas without setting off a firestorm of spending. In Vegas, she’ll help attendees discover ways to live more meaningful, successful lives through generosity –which is one of her most valuable business principles. More importantly, Luly will share ways people can grow their business and live fuller lives at the same time,” said Nina Neuschuetz, JK-North America’s Director of Marketing. Luly’s inspiration comes from the book The Go-Giver, an inspiring tale that brings new relevance to the old proverb, “Give and you shall receive.”
Luly will review the “Five Laws of Stratospheric Success” and discuss additional ways you can be successful when you put others first. “In addition to her presentation, Luly will also hold a workshop specifically for women,” stated Nina. “Women are the strength behind the tanning industry. From customers to salon owners and employees, few industries are influenced as much by them. Luly will guide attendees through her best tips for finding happiness without stressing about being perfect, how to put things in perspective, and learning to say, ‘No’. Get ready to be inspired, motivated, and to leave with more confidence, less guilt and loads of energy!”
Among New Sunshine’s many Expo attractions is the California Tan Doctorate of Sunless training program. This certification will be held the day before the Expo and participants will need to register separately for it. “Over the past year, Josh Malloch (California Tan Sunless Sales Representative) has developed a program to educate salon employees on the most effective way to spray-tan clients,” said Ashley Wottring, New Sunshine Channel Manager. Ashley and Josh will demonstrate proper skin-preparation and application techniques, results longevity and other related topics, all designed to help salon pros be profitable sunless salespeople. Attendees who pass the course will become Certified California Tan Technicians. “We’ve received great feedback on the classes we’ve presented so far, and we’re excited to bring this program to the Expo!” Ashley added.
New Products on Display!
(You Read it Correctly)
In addition to networking and educational opportunities, the Expo is very much a “new-product-show”. Many of the vendors will display products launched mid-season, including Devoted Creations. “We’re excited to be showing three new lotions this year,” said Lewis Henry, Devoted Creations President. “We believe that mid-season launches are important because they provide salon pros and tanners with something new that they don’t have to wait an entire year to see and offer in their stores. This creates excitement for tanners, which usually leads to increased sales at a time when salon operators need it most.” Devoted Creations’ new products – Spiked & Seductive, Save the Date and So Naughty Nude Bronzing Powder – feature the cutting-edge ingredients, packaging and fragrances for which the company is known.
Supre Tan will debut three new products in Vegas, and the Texas-based lotion maker took a unique approach with this concept. “Salon operators have the potential to become their clients’ source for quality body care products,” said Maggie Curran, Supre Tan Director of Sales. “Launching three new products in this category during the summer months can provide tanning professionals with the time they need to learn about a product so they can sell it to their tanners.” The products set to debut at the Expo are Hempz After-Sun Cooling Gel and Body Hydrator, a Hydrating Bath & Body Oil, as well as three new sugar scrubs. “Our educational presentation by John P. Johnson will focus on customer service and sales,” Maggie added.
All Things Vegas!
Considering everything the city has to offer, Las Vegas is an ideal location for an expo. “It’s the perfect destination for people who want to mix business with pleasure,” Nina Neuschuetz said. “This makes it a natural for our industry.” Expo attendees also have the opportunity to “get lucky” with more than $100,000 in cash and prizes to be given away at the event, including the grand prize – a SUN ANGEL S46 sunbed valued at $54,995. “The odds of winning are significantly in favor of the attendees,” Nina added.
With its jam-packed agenda, the West Coast Tanning Expo offers an amazing value. “For only $59 per person (pre-registration), attendees receive access to the show floor and all the educational presentations, a free luncheon and free cocktail party!” Nina exclaimed.
With everything it has to offer, it should come as no surprise that hundreds of salon professionals have already pre-registered for this industry-changing event. That said, there’s still plenty of time to join in all the excitement. The special pre-registration price is $59 per person through May 31, and walk-up registration is $89 at the door.
